UNESCO World Heritage & Living Craft

Stand before the majestic Miagao Church (Church of Saint Thomas of Villanova), a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its golden-ochre sandstone facade featuring a detailed relief carving of St. Christopher carrying a papaya tree. Nearby, observe weavers crafting Hablon—a traditional handwoven cloth made from cotton, rayon, and silk.

The Gigantes Group of Islands

Journey to the northernmost tip of the province to explore the Islas de Gigantes group in Carles. Sail past dramatic limestone karst formations, swim in the emerald waters of Tangke Saltwater Lagoon, relax on the shifting white sands of Cabugao Gamay, and feast on fresh, affordable scallops.

Highland Ecotourism & Cool Escapes

Travel inland to the elevated pine-covered hills of Bucari in Leon, often called the province’s summer capital. Hike along mountain ridges, take in fresh pine-scented air, visit strawberry farms, and cool off under natural mountain cascades.

Agricultural & Heritage Trail

Journey through the sprawling inland plains connecting Santa Barbara, Cabatuan, Mina, and Pototan—the breadbasket of Iloilo. Explore historic century-old farmsteads, vibrant agricultural research centers, vast rice terraces, and local agri-tourism hubs offering hands-on farm-to-table experiences and traditional rural heritage.
